This photo is our new banner which we hung at our booth in the AAAA display hall during our 2016 reunion in Atlanta, GA. This banner will hang in Nashville this year as members of our unit man our booth (#887) during the display hall hours to meet and greet AAAA members.
This video is a volunteer tribute to the Troopers of A Company 227th Assault Helicopter Battalion and their direct descendant, the 1st Battalion 227th Aviation Regiment.
The video begins with the 11th Air Assault and reviews the 227th history through 2013.
The active 227th Aviation Regiment is a sub unit of the 1st Air Cavalry Brigade (1ACB), the aviation brigade for the 1st Cavalry Division. Currently there are three Regiments; 1-227, 2-227 and 3-227, each with their own unique capabilities.
The 227th Battalion celebrated their 50th Anniversary in 2013.
Our website is beginning the process to shut down over the next few years.

The Army Aviation Association of America (AAAA) has provided information from their archives about the early beginnings of the 227th Assault Helicopter Battalion. This information includes a lot of newspaper articles and photographs from the early days of the 11th Air Assault as the 227th was first organized and began to develop the Air Mobile concept.
We will be adding information to this C/227 history blog as information becomes available.
